Week 2:
MUSCLES and Protein… why you need it and where to find it.
Protein is essential for our muscles! Protein is what gives our muscles structure and facilitates the growth of our muscle strength for athletics and everyday living. We want to keep our muscle tone in great shape, so we are feeling fit and healthy.
This doesn’t have to mean that we need to be in the gym pumping iron or running marathons all the time. We want good muscle tone for exercise but also for everyday movement and activity. Walking, commuting, playing with children, stretching, and sleeping.
Protein is also essential to the structure of our bones, tissues, skin, nails, organs, and hair. Let’s make sure we are getting a good amount of protein!
